A bill to Make provision about the maximum number of salaries that may be paid under the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975 in respect of certain Ministerial offices.

Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Ministerial salaries

In paragraph 2 of Part 5 of Schedule 1 to the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975 (maximum number of salaries that may be paid in respect of certain Ministerial offices)—
(a) in paragraph (a) (Secretaries of State), for 21 substitute 22;
(b) in paragraph (b) (Secretaries of State and Ministers of State), for 50 substitute 54;
(c) in paragraph (c) (Secretaries of State, Ministers of State and Parliamentary Secretaries), for 83 substitute 94.

2 Extent, commencement and short title

(1) This Act extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
(2) This Act comes into force on the day on which it is passed.
(3) This Act may be cited as the Ministerial Salaries (Amendment) Act 2026.
