2009 No. 1A Measure passed by the General Synod of the Church of England to make new provision for the terms of service of the holders of ecclesiastical offices; and for purposes connected therewith.

3B Suspension of dean or residentiary canon¶
Where a dean or residentiary canon , including a lay residentiary canon holding office under Common Tenure is suspended under section 76(3) of the Charities Act 2011, the bishop of the diocese must, by notice in writing, suspend the person from office until the end of the period of the suspension under section 76(3) of that Act (including any extensions of that period).I84 Provision of housing for office holders¶

I210 Interpretation¶
In this Measure—- “the 1972 Measure” means the Repair of Benefice Buildings Measure 1972 (1972 No. 2);
- “the Board” means the Parsonages Board appointed or designated under a scheme made under section 1(1) of the 1972 Measure;
- “capability procedures” means any procedures for which Regulations make provision by virtue of section 2(2)(d) above;
- “the Commissioners” means the Church Commissioners;
- “house of residence” has the meaning assigned to it by section 4(1) above and includes any land or buildings occupied together with a house of residence;
- “office holder” has the meaning assigned to it by section 2(1) above;
- “Regulations” means Regulations made under section 2 above; and
- “relevant housing provider” has the meaning assigned to it by section 4(7) above.
