The Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 2009

The Secretary of State has laid a document which contained a draft of this proposed Order before Parliament in accordance with section 85(4)(a) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 F1 and has referred that document to the Northern Ireland Assembly for its consideration in accordance with subsection (4)(b) of that section.
The period referred to in subsection (4)(c) of that section has ended.
A draft of this Order has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
Accordingly Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 85 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, makes the following Order:

1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

1 This Order may be cited as the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 2009 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.
2 In this Order “2001 Act” means the Private Security Industry Act 2001 F2.

2 Amendment to the 2001 Act

In section 4 of the 2001 Act (exemptions from licensing requirement), after subsection (12) insert—

In paragraph 8(2) of Schedule 2 to the 2001 Act, after paragraph (l) insert—

This section allows provision to be made dealing with any matter falling within a description specified in any of paragraphs 9 to 17 of Schedule 3 to the Northern Ireland Act 1998; the provisions of this Order fall within paragraph 9(c) of that Schedule. Under section 98(2) of that Act a provision deals with any matter or matters which it affects more than incidentally.
