The authority may not request a national minimum wage equivalence declaration in respect of a ship which is, because of the establishment by the Government of a minimum wage corridor agreement with an international partner of the United Kingdom, bound to ensure that any non-qualifying seafarer working on that ship is remunerated for UK work at a rate that is equal to or exceeds the rate that would otherwise be required under this Act.”
